by Ted Avellone, Commodore 2025!

HAPPY JULY EVERYONE!
Come on out to Shell Point Beach and sail, swim, or just spend some relaxing time hanging out with Club members old and new around the training trailer. The days we were all dreaming of during the seemingly unending icy nightmare of “Snowpocalypse 2025” are now upon us. A top avocational medical scientist savant (me) concluded long ago that “saltwater therapy” self-administered at least once a week is essential to one’s physical and mental well-being, rectifying the humours, chasing the blue devils away, and being a sure cure for the marthambles. So come on out to the roborative waters to relax, recharge, and recreate as often as possible this summer before the chill of fall once again sweeps over the land. See you out there!

July 2025

Place: District 850
The meeting was called to order at 7:01 pm with 21 members present. Quorum achieved-Huzzah!
The commodore asked for a motion to approve the May meeting minutes which was given, and minutes were approved at 7:02.
Commodore: Looking forward to getting on the water and the upcoming Summer Series racing! More to come.
Vice: IGN
Scribe: Not present-- out sick-feel better!
Purser: Money was spent and we had money coming in. Though the trailer expenses rose due to the addition of the benches and some other things, we were still under the 5k budget. Memberships currently at 95.
Past Commodore: Kristin was present and thanked everyone for their support and well wishes for Mom's celebration of life weekend. She, like Ted, is looking forward to getting back on the water soon!
Vaughan: Continuing work on a roundel (a circular disc used as a symbol) for the club, presented 4 samples, and facilitated a discussion. More to come! Kudos to Rick U for some gnarly windsurfing (yes that is a quote)!
Discussion items
Training Trailer: Need to crank up leveling jacks so they don’t rust in place and put in concrete pillars instead. Still discussing what to do to the inside.
Beach Workdays: ROADies will take care of removing concrete blocks and excess wood from the beach. Planter planning also underway.
Program Ideas: Basic training stuff. Rights of way and rules of the road. Freestyle prior to Rick working with folks on free style.
Manual: Bob Andrews and John Gilbert are collaborating- more to come!
Program for the night: Ted and Thomas shared videos of windsurfing! What to do and what not to do!
Adjourned when all was said and done at 7:50p.
