Commodore's Ramblings

Planning, cajoling, yelling are all underway for the next great Endless Summer.  Are you ready?  Boards polished and shined, rashies cleaned and pressed, booties donned, and noses zinced?  The wind, the rays, the beer truck, the great vibes, the good times.  They'll all be here real soon.  The 32nd Endless Summer Sailboard Classic is less than a month away!  Get ready, and if you can think of a sponsor we can't, please let your Commodore know.

Don't forget the club meeting on Tuesday the 10th at Beef O'Brady's. It is election time and membership dues time. Official Ballot of Election for 2020 SPSC Board of Directors:

2019 SPSC Commodore

Next up is the 32nd Endless Summer Sailboard Classic, October 4th - 6th. Our Commodore, Adam, is the chair for this event. If you want to help, give Adam a call and volunteer (540-335-4216 or lunaru4ea@nettally.com). We still need more sponsors, so when you are out and about, ask the establishment's owner or manager for items, gift certificates, sponsorship cash, etc.

SPSC Meeting August 13, 2019

Thanks all for coming out as we hit a record attendance of 23.
Called to order at 7:32pm

Bob introduced new members Ron, Judy, and Pro. He then went on to introduce our guest speakers, Michael and Angel Ganey with Apalachee Bay Community Sailing (ABCS). Michael spoke on what Apalachee Bay Community Sailing (ABCS) is doing and hoping to have adult classes next month. They are a 501c3 organization and have begun a junior instructor program to get more instructors for their lessons which is a requirement. The talk was very information and helpful.

Commodore report: Gave kudos to Rose for the R’n’R. Don said Swami wanted to have an event called return of the flocker. We all thanked Swami for stepping up and doing the next R’n’R, NOT.

Vice Commodore report: Agreed R’n’R was awesome. Thanked COABI for the part they played. Her band Mischief is playing at Island Wings Company on Thursday. Legacy Committee: Kristin asked folks to stop by and talk to her about it. Deb suggested people email Kristin with folks they want remembered that were involved with the club.

Scribe: Minutes approved. Thanked Rose and Ron for their articles.

Purser: Made money on the R’n’R which is a rarity. Memberships now stand at 83, highest in 10 years. We have money in the bank and most expenses are paid.

Rum ‘n’ Root beer - Great event thanks to Rose!

Endless Summer: In search of sponsors. Donaldo’s and Gumbo is no longer.

Xmas party
